Word to the wise - a warm body with a certificate days are over - for now.

Congratulations, and I have to say I might be more than a little bit jealous. I would have loved to be an airline pilot, but as a young lad my parents were hard core against that career path even though I was smitten with everything airplanes. *shrug* Engineering was just fine, but I sometimes...

The older mountain bike thread but now a road bike review update

Angular momentum. A heavier wheel stores more energy, therefore requires more energy to spin up to speed. So, getting lighter wheels/tires is a double win. Lower bike weight and lower angular momentum.

    Diagnosed with Hemorrhoids

Had a thrombosed hemorrhoid removed while I was at OCS. After surgery they gave me one of those sitz bath bowl inserts for soaking the rear end as well as one of those donut cushions to use while sitting. Some wisea$$ called me COMNAVHOLEBOWL, and that name kinda stuck for the rest of OCS. Fun...

Upcoming AD for many more PA-28 and PA-36 wing spars. 100 anomalies and 6 cracked wings found

Not crossing of paths, but I spent the majority of my career supplying hermetic electronic packaging to all of the T1’s for military applications. I have radar components in F15, F22, and F/A18. I have communications electronics in F/A18 as well. I have optical components in the first gen EODAS...

    Lockheed Martin

I was on a motorcycle trip out west a few weeks ago and rode past the Mercury exit on US95. I was intrigued by “No Services” sign and the serious looking guard shack I saw in the distance and later Googled the exit. Learn something new and cool everyday.

Most times a go around doesn’t have to be a “jam the power in instantly” situation. Add just enough power to arrest decent and level the plane. While flying along the runway at partial power, reset flaps/trim for takeoff, then smoothly increase to full power and fly away from the runway environment.
