Angular momentum. A heavier wheel stores more energy, therefore requires more energy to spin up to speed. So, getting lighter wheels/tires is a double win. Lower bike weight and lower angular momentum.

Most times a go around doesn’t have to be a “jam the power in instantly” situation. Add just enough power to arrest decent and level the plane. While flying along the runway at partial power, reset flaps/trim for takeoff, then smoothly increase to full power and fly away from the runway environment.
