Question: Does ADSB pick up Mode C

Sorry. No "cheap" solution. There is that garmin UAT box that plugs in inline with your existing transponder for $1700. King/Trig have pin compatible 1090es solutions for around $2100-$2500. Those numbers are without install though

Question: Does ADSB pick up Mode C

Kinda. They will reliably see you under the following conditions. The FAA radars that feed into the TIS-b systems see you They are in view of a ground station They are ADS-b out AND you are in the hockey puck (30mn diameter +-3500') Their ADS-b out is configured properly They happen to look out...

Question: Does ADSB pick up Mode C

You will get Mode A/C/S targets as the TIS-B ground station feed, but only reliably if you are ADS-b out. You may be able to receive some of the TIS-b messages being sent to other participating aircraft, but this won't be the whole picture for you. None of the ADS-b in solutions that I am aware...

Are paramotor wings that much more prone to collapse than regular paraglider wings? I find that surprising since these things are direct descendants from paragliders which are perfectly happy (to an extent) in turbulent thermal and ridge conditions.

That at lookout Mountain? That is a gnarly ramp. I visited there when I was ridge flying the Sequatchie Valley in my sailplane 6 years ago. Probably should have stated my question differently. I was wondering if you could reuse the wing to go soaring sans weed whacker backpack.

Just curious, will whatever certification they give you also qualify you to fly at a hang gliding site? Also how different are the PPG vs Paraglider wings?

Help me plan a flight... Or actually a stop

Well depending on your arrival time at LNL you could either go to the Redman Supper club for dinner, or the Pine Cone for breakfast. Both are an easy walk. If you are thinking of getting a rental car call Randy at LNL now as they will probably have high demand that weekend. You also may want to...
