The smell of ink from a new chart being unfolded for the first time was intoxicating. I loved WAC charts. In the old days the rule of thumb was that WAC charts were intended for aircraft cruising at 180 knots or better, but I used them anyway for long trips.

Maybe that will give you some direction.
