310, 414, whatever it takes...

That’s why I paid out-of-pocket and knocked out my CTP and ATP written and ride last year. Hopefully this year pays off.

OP - Sack-up and buy a 310 (maybe I'm a little biased). You won't regret it. If it's still not enough, move to a 414 and go from there.

I studied the ACS and AFH. Took my CP MEL ride 2 weeks after I got signed off with my CP SEL ride. The DPE felt that I was very well prepared for both rides. I didn't pay for any additional courseware or study guides. (Maybe a career in the Army flying helicopters helped :eek:)

I use a Lil' Sherman for my 310. Works like a charm. A couple of planning considerations that made me decide against a mower include not having another engine to take care of, and the Lil Sherman's electric motor is quiet. I want to hear if I start to bend metal. I got it used from a fella...
