    tonneau covers

I’ve been dealing with truck covers since the early ‘90s. I’ve always owned a truck, and always had a cover on the bed. The soft ones don’t last more than 2-3 years, and freezing temps cause functionality issues. Bed access and weather-proofness were important factors for me. With that, I’ve...

Got “thrown out” of an airport today

    Very succinct and precise.

    Anyone buying a Rivian?

25 years ago I wrote a paper in college about the viability of Alternative Fuel Vehicles (AFVs as they were referred to at the time). More specifically, they weren’t a viable option for mass acceptance or a free market to support them. I’m confident the same premises held back then hold true...

    Bidding for hangar lease???

I concur with getting the "project" planes cleared out - that was also part of the conversation - enforcing hangar utilization for aircraft that are not only airworthy, but actually fly (buy gas).

    Bidding for hangar lease???

Has anyone ever heard of an airport leasing hangar space to the highest bidder? The thought process is to get away from the infamous waiting list that seems to be at every airport, giving someone on the bottom of the list the chance to actually get a hangar. While that could seem...

Potential partnership in aircraft - things to think about?

I own my 310, no partners. I was approached by a 57/67 CA with a major about a potential partnership or dry lease. He currently owns a C150, and is looking for more capabilities for hauling his family and going longer distances. He previously owned a 310D. I have not previously considered a...

    Does it ever stop?

Why pay for one overhaul when you can pay for two?;)

Looking for an MEI near STL

Found an MEI out of Jeff City. Had a DPE in KC lined up, but walked out to the aircraft Sunday morning to a flat nose gear tire. Fixed it but it was afternoon by then, so the schedule was shot for the DPE. He was gone for the rest of the week. My son returns to the Air Force Academy Friday, so...

Looking for an MEI near STL

Well, still looking for an MEI near FYG - Washington, MO. I don’t have Facebook, so I can’t exercise the previous recommendation. Any other ideas?

Looking for an MEI near STL

Ironically, the DPE is the easy part. I’ve got a friend who is a phone call away when the time comes. Finding the MEI, willing to train in my aircraft, seems to be the sticking point. I didn’t have any issues when I did it several years ago, but that MEI has since retired. I know it will be...

Looking for an MEI near STL

I'm looking for an MEI near STL, or more specifically my homedrome FYG. My son got his PPL this semester at the Air Force Academy, and I was facilitating his AMEL this summer while he's home, in our 310. He only has a 3-week window of time off from the academy in July to accomplish this. Any...

How can I help my korean BF to find job? He is a pilot.

Several regionals and some cargo offer an E3 visa, if that option would work for him. Go Jet, SkyWest, Atlas come to mind.

Twin Cessna shop recommendations near STL?

Thanks for the response. Yes, I'm very familiar with TAS - probably the best twin Cessna shop in the business. I was looking for something a little more convenient as to mitigate the logistics of having to return via commercial flight, recover the aircraft via commercial, etc. I don't think...

Twin Cessna shop recommendations near STL?

Since the last annual, I moved from the KC side of MO, closer to STL. My previous twin Cessna shop was in KS - a great outfit - but they have come under new management, and the prices from the previous year's annual (typical, no significant squawks) over doubled. While I'd like to stick with...

    IPAD mini kneeboard

Don't limit your search: I recently "upgraded" to the Mini 6 from my Mini 4, and the dimensions are essentially the same. I still use the Ram mount suctioned to the windscreen, with the same adapter I used for my Mini 4. Frankly, I miss the Mini 4, with the thumb-button, but that ship sailed now.

    Rotary Transition Program

Be sure to take the written offered at Rucker, and you’ll walk out of there with your Commercial Rotary Wing. Also, see the attached PDF outlining the requirements to transition from RW to FW.

    stupid war sustainability question

Watch Pentagon Wars and you'll have a better understanding of the ridiculousness of the DoD procurement process. Years ago in Command General Staff Officer College, I wrote a paper about the fielding of the V-22 Osprey. From RFP to on the line was 24 years. o_O
