    Shows he cares. A lot.

91.126(b)(1) - Yes, Virginia, it is regulatory.

I think what confuses people is the various guidance stating that pattern entry methods are advisory, not regulatory.

    Thinking about a T-6

I certainly enjoy mine. Though I'm not sure how I would feel about 3 or 4 other people pulling G's. I fuss over mine pretty hard. :) Taildraggers can have issues in group environments. Eventually one guy lets his skills lapse and ground loops it. I have a couple goals remaining to...

Isabel Goyer goodbye? Where did it go??

Her point was subjective and therefore somewhat in the eye of the beholder. I read it as "I wanted to pursue my passions but the mean old guys in suits made me cater to advertisers." Having run a business for 15 years, I can say one thing with certainty: you cannot run a business without a...

Isabel Goyer goodbye? Where did it go??

I wonder if a year of freelancing has increased her appreciation of spreadsheets?

    Thinking about a T-6

Wheel is on the wrong end. T-6 hours are the ticket to other WWII warbirds.

Aircraft owners thoughts on IA requirement for annual inspection

Great story, thanks for posting! In some ways, it is a miracle that we have the freedom to aviate in this country that we do. We have a guy from Bolivia who runs a flight school at our airfield. Well, that is overselling it. He has a ragged out 172, and Bolivian kids will come here to fly...

    Thinking about a T-6

Great insight, thanks! Getting involved in NATA is a big part of my motivation. Really digging the opportunity to do your formation clinics. I'm thinking of going to a fly-in that Thom Richards is hosting in late Sept. Will be a good opportunity to make connections and learn about type...

    Oshkosh 2024 - Who's going?

It was a hoot! Made the arrival even more fun. If you call at Ripon and announce as a flight, they will try to send you the same direction at Fisk, and land you such that you can stay together on taxi. They were putting most aircraft on 36L, but we got 36R. I got the impression that was used...

How many times have you flown the approach as a flight?

Watching the Blue Angels is Unhealthy

Spot on. Target audience is 17 year old kids. Message is come do cool stuff with us. Secondary audience is parents. Message is look how professional we are, you can trust us with your kid. Also remember it's a zero sum game between the services. There are a finite number of kids receptive...

    Thinking about a T-6

Fuel cost will be higher, but total cost of ownership should be manageable. Fuel burn in cruise is 32 GPH, but I burn 20 GPH doing acro in the Decathlon. Partner is an IA, so maintenance cost will be parts only, and he owns the hangar. Hopefully I can piggyback on his insurance too. Sale of...

    Thinking about a T-6

Yep, when looking for a partner in a T-6, someone whose hangar looks like this is an obvious pick.

Watching the Blue Angels is Unhealthy

When I was a cadet at West Point in the mid 80's, we were sometimes loaned out as props for 4th of July parades. I marched in a parade in a small town in PA in 1987. One of the best times I have ever had in my life. Afterwards, we went to the local VFW for beers. Everyone there was a WWII...

    Thinking about a T-6

Yeah, agreed. I've got plenty of TW time, but retract is a different story. My would-be partner collects vintage aircraft. He owns a Twin Beech, a C-47, and a Grumman Widgeon, among others. We also have a BT-13 Vultee on the field. So I've got some opportunities to get stick time in other...

    Thinking about a T-6

I talked to a guy flying one at SnF a few years ago. I asked him what I needed to know. He took me around to the side of the aircraft. Stenciled on the side of the fuselage over the top of the handhold in 6 inch block letters was this: "Do Not Stall."
