Austria would be a very good place to base for wandering, wouldn't it? Have you a preference for where in the US you'd prefer to be?

Garmin GMA 350/35 vs PS Engineering PMA 450

This feature, I have never seen. But I am extremely satisfied with the PS Engineering products (I have an 8000B, am jonesing for a PMA450B), and their support is simply exemplary. No one can touch 'em (and I thin we've seen proof right here in this thread). In audio panels, PSE are the best...

Your T.S.A. Tax Dollars @ Work or NOT ...

I'm uncertain as to whether this is satire or serious, but it is worth noting that private security screeners (the norm in other countries) are generally more efficient and less costly than TSA screeners, but the TSA (who oversee the screening regardless of whether the airport uses private...

Thinking about a Lathe and Milling Machine

Think a guy at the airport and I are going to go in on a 55 gallon drum of mineral spirits. Man, has that stuff gotten costly! Congratulations, Ted, on yet again realizing another of my random dreams.

Garmin GNS 750 vs Avidyne IFD 540

The IFD is vastly more logical; the GNS required memorization of keystroke sequences, committed to rote memory. They took, but it was not logical at all, by comparison to the IFD.

Garmin GNS 750 vs Avidyne IFD 540

I used the 430 for years, and had one in my Bo; upgraded to the IFD440 and I'm happy with it, but it's not as if the 430 was some sort of punishment to use. More memorization than logic, but I still find myself thinking how I would have done it in the 430w.

    Driving an S-Tec 50 from an IFD440?

Sort of a concept salad going on here. The S-Tec 50 can hold a course as set by the 440, but it will not do GPS Steering (GPSS) without a GPSS module (could be an S-Tec, or one of several others). You'd need to aim the plane in the right direction, then engage the nav tracking mode.

    6Y9 2022 Fly in/Camp in

Bryan, you definitely got off earlier than you and I did in the Bo a few years back, but we were a bit heavy, too, since we hadn't burned all the "fly folks around for fun" fuel we had expected. It was still OK in the Bo, though. But you never do poorly in a PA24.

    S-TEK 50

They can, and they do. Removing the control head is the work of minutes, and S-Tec is usually pretty responsive.

    Creating a “burner” phone number?

Used to be, you couldn't get a new G Voice number if you already had one; no longer so?

    Registration Number

It is meant as an analogy (and, I think, a good one), certainly not happening - yet! It is someone asserting and selling a property interest in something that they do not own, something that exists only by virtue of the government's monopoly ("monopoly" in this context not intended as a...
