    I’m calling the peak

Yep. I have been looking at them for years. Life, the Medical, Insurance and Money finally aligned. The Sportsman fits the mission well. I am also happy to report that it has been re-usable after every landing! Really, I think ownership is just the commitment of the whole thing. The...

    Weird Walk-Arounds !

"And my 30 round magazines only have 28 rounds in them." That sounds like a holdover from 1968. I thought that problem was fixed... :)

How to set up to land with a dead engine.

OP here, thanks for all the responses. This has given good food for thought on how to practice it. The idea that a windmilling prop and no flap isn't really that much different then full flap at idle is helpful. If that is the case, then it really isn't that much different than how I was...

How to set up to land with a dead engine.

Let's say you are 5,000 feet above a 2,500 foot runway and your engine quits. It obviously flies just fine, it just doesn't stay up in the air. Maybe you have practiced engine outs many times, but you have never really experienced what the sink rate is really like with a dead engine. You...

Graham Lee 7/8 scale Nieuport N.11?

I can see why you would want to get that flying. Looks pretty cool. I rebuilt a Fisher FP303 many years ago. Not comparable, really, but with a 28hp Rotax I knew the meaning of underpowered. Fun though.

Prop control knob hard to push/pull

I have a throttle cable that I don't think is as smooth as it should be. The mechanic said they are sealed, mostly. So for about $80 plus his time it will get replaced.

Fighter Pilot looking for advice on the GA world

I'm in an LSA partnership In Western WA(Zenith CH650), and have my own solo owned plane. I'm selling the LSA share because I just bought the other (Glasair Sportsman). But, the LSA with 4 partners has a been a very good experience. Super cheap flying in a very capable little plane. And 4...

Online Group Airplane Scheduling with IOS & Android access

I have used all of the above. For one plane and 4 partners Google calendar has been super simple and useful.

    Workshop insulation

If there is an air gap between insulation and the outside wall but no ventilation to that air gap then condensation will likely form. Not an issue if it is a temporary thing but for long term, years, it would likely be a moldy mess. Of course mileage will vary with climate.

    Hangar Space Available

I just rented a brand new hanger in Arlington WA. AWO. They are build 3 rows of T hangers, about 20 per building. I think it is leased ground and still land available. It wouldn't be for a single hangar though.

    Transient tie down fees

Is Airnav.com the best place to research fees? Or another? I don't use foreflight, if that is a suggestion.

Port of Coupeville Buying KOKH (Update: Now Owned by Robert DeLaurentis Instead)

He is doing a lot of upgrades. He is also charging a landing fee of $20. That is making people mad, of course. My take on it is if I have a reason to go there I don't mind the $20. But I won't land there for no reason at that. He is also wanting to get fuel and sell it at a good price to...

What is the best way to block tail number keeping it hidden from public tracking?

The FAA privacy thing above works well. I bought my plane from a gentleman that had his reasons for privacy. So my plane is pretty much blocked from everything. It will show up as anonymous on flightaware, etc, while I'm flying, but your average Karen would have a tough time figuring out who...
