    B-17 Bombardier

Ah, it’s probably more a coping mechanism than anything. People today aren’t fundamentally different but as the saying goes - easy times make for weak men. A few missions in those guys were getting a lot tougher, and most of their families had just survived the Great Depression. The funny thing...

Bill Anders, Apollo 8 astronaut, crashes in Puget Sound

I think my family met him about 15 years ago when he had stopped at KSAT with his P-51 Valhalla for fuel. We didn’t have a clue who he was but saw the P-51 at the FBO and stopped to look. That was back when I had a film camera and I’m pretty sure I took some pictures, but I have no idea where...

    Plane down Franklin County

I thought that, too. Literally 24 states have a Franklin County, and one Parish, too. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Franklin_County

    Interesting new Florida law.....

So, uh, if my friend homeschools, and the neighbor needs a roof inspection, the drone guy just broke the law by flying over a private school to get that particular angle? This is gonna have all kind of interesting nonsense in the courts. And if you hate drones, just find a way to call yourself a...

    My most memorable flight

Too many negative father-son stories get highlighted - this, is cool. Wish I could do something like that with my dad, or my son in the future. Awesome stuff!

    F35 down

If the plane made it to NM and then refueled… one has to wonder what happened at the fuel stop. Hopefully the pilot will be able to provide insight.

Training has stalled. Advice sought. What would you do in my position?

If my memory serves me right, ol’ Lindy may have only had a skid! I think my Luscombe might’ve been originally delivered with a skid as well.

Training has stalled. Advice sought. What would you do in my position?

I wasn’t asking for myself, but to offer some suggestions based on experience.

Training has stalled. Advice sought. What would you do in my position?

Where are you located(?) and give me a call at the number on my website. Depending on how experienced the school is that might be fine or it might be a terrible idea.

    fltplan go

For the record, I use fltplngo almost every single time I fly on my iPhone as a backup and while it’s not perfect, it is completely adequate for many things. I have a company supplied iPad with Foreflight on it that we use for aerial photography and I’m cheap so I don’t like to buy a second...

Can a Sport Pilot get a Glider cert and then a Commercial Glider cert without medicals?

I think you’d be better off trying to become a sport pilot instructor.

    210 down in Sydney

Looks like he might've put the gear lever down at the last moment judging from the video. I think I'd have kept it up, after my Cardinal experience, - think that may be part of why the aircraft was less stable on the skid - but good landing for sure.

Multi engine time in AirCam aircraft?

You already look shady here... so just go get the endorsement before it becomes a bigger issue.
