    The journey of 1300nm begins...

About 3 weeks ago my crew got hit twice in one night coming home from West Texas. It's super annoying.

    What to do from here...

So, uh, are they holding a gun to your head to take that checkride? If not, find another instructor and another DPE, OR study and word hard enough to be in the 40%.

    What if... Modernizing GA

So, right now, the weight is limited by the LSA rules - 1320 lbs, which necessarily limits it to the weights you mentioned, however, I think that if MOSAIC goes through, it will likely get a weight increase. Every owner I've talked to loves them and they speak of them as a refined 150. There are...

    Tariffs and airplane kits

Figure out where the tariffs will help you, and invest or get involved wisely. Keep the glass half full and look for opportunity, instead of the negative.

    Decaf coffee [NA]

Not for me. I only started drinking coffee as a way to get warm after some very, very cold photo missions. I honestly could drink decaf all the time since the caffeine isn't why I drink it.

    Decaf coffee [NA]

I've flown to a lot of airports and have yet to find a single Keurig that tastes better than anything I've ever bought in a bag.

    What if... Modernizing GA

In order to really give a satisfactory answer, you have to define "better" - going back to the original post, and that is pretty subjective to the individual. For me, better, would possibly be a very simple plane, most likely a Luscombe derivative with an anonymous ADS-B alternative, a...

uAvionix skyBeacon: A false sense of security?

Tell me where I can find ANY kind of unit that pays for the troubleshooting. That's a silly argument.

Insight Wanted: Survey on Catastrophic Oil Leak Detection

https://www.pilotsofamerica.com/community/threads/not-my-favorite-way-to-finish-a-photo-mission.148994/#post-3564734 This was one of them. We think that the oil leak that forced our hand was a gasket on the oil filter, of all things. Lessons learned? My number one takeaway from both incidents...

Insight Wanted: Survey on Catastrophic Oil Leak Detection

I've had at least two forced landings affected by oil loss in the last three years. I took the survey and left you some comments.

Is it normal for a student pilot to feel sad like this?

Where are you training? How motivating is your instructor? It could be you, or it could be a bunch of other things.

First Tailwheel flight + Back to Basics with POA Pilot

I prefer grass for teaching, but we had very light winds and Bryan's first three were on the pavement at Caddo Mills, and he did ok with that. I don't like to sign people off without pavement experience.
