The end of flying as we know it??

    Can you say "Darwin Awards"?

Have you experienced an unintentional stall/spin before?

I haven't unintentionally spun a 172, nor intentionally, but the only aerobatic maneuver the Skyhawk is placarded for is spins. On a side note, the last time I was practicing accelerated stalls, I was faster on the rudder pedals than my instructor and put in just enough rudder to level the wings.

    Looking to build an airplane

Check out the Bearhawk web site. They are all tailwheel planes, designed for bush flying, and I think I remember they have a 6 place model.

    Advection Fog Wind Question

Thank you, all. Edit. I’m really surprised at the maximum wind speed for mixing. 15 knots is pretty stiff.

    Advection Fog Wind Question

I'm working my way through Rod Machdo's Private Pilot Handbook and Workbook, and there's a question about advection fog. Specifically, wind speed. The book says winds up to 15 knots tend to mix and deepen advection fog, and the workbook says 5 knots. I've done some poking around but didn't...

So, according to the doctor, I'm OK to fly as long as I'm on EliQuis. After that, either massive doses of aspirin or compression socks. Too many bad things can happen with massive doses of aspirin, so I'll use compression socks. Luckily, all my blood work is back to normal - i.e. a teenager's...

First day of flight training in a week and I still need a headset—what are your suggestions?

I completely agree. Everyone's hearing is a non-renewable resource. You should get the best noise reduction that you can afford. I cheaped out when I first started lessons and I will pay for that the rest of my life with tinnitus and having to be careful about being in loud environments. Once...

At the risk of getting my own thread locked, it is sad. I'm not quite ready to buy another control yoke, but I read the Turtle Beach yoke reviews, and I think I'll just get another Honeycomb Alpha yoke. It looks like the manufacturing issue has been resolved and they seem to be in ample supply...

Saving my iPhone 10 background picture without taking a screenshot.

Success. Thank you for telling me how to bring up my lock screen. Once I brought the lock screen up, I selected 'Customize'. That menu has two options, one of which is 'Show lock screen photo in Photos'. I selected that option and magically the lock screen photo showed up in my Photos library...

Well, after numerous tries, I finally got access to Tammy's Amazon account. Unfortunately, she didn't buy it through Amazon. I have already gone through all of her papers, and as far as I can tell, the only receipt she didn't keep was for this yoke.

Thank you. Aviation has been a life-long passion, but family and other life came first.

If you are talking about using a flight simulator, you are full of it. It's not the same as flying, but I learned a lot and got the routine for air work and ground reference maneuvers down using it. I even started mastering crosswind landings with it. Even my instructors recommended I use it...

Students are "Learners" now........... ...............And, evidently, this has been going on for a few years. Why does the FAA continue to change the name or acronym for something EVERY day it seems? There must be an office of "maintaining confusion" in the FAA. They sure are good at it...
