    IFR questions

Perfectly legal for IFR, but having a Nav radio would be nice. There are options available that won’t break the bank.

As I file IFR more...Autopilot options, thoughts

You missed the option to install just the Aerocruze 100. There is no need for an Aspen or G5 with the AC100. It will drive directly from the IFD440. Cost for this, installed, should be around $9,000.

PS Engineering 450b transmit is low

I would also think that’s a radio problem or a wire between the radio & the audio panel.

    For Sale GTX345 x2

I have a couple of GTX345 transponders, one is already removed and the other will be coming out in about 3 weeks. The one I have out has the internal GPS (no antenna) and the altitude encoder (GEA12) built in. New the cost is about $5,500 without the antenna and 6 month lead time. I will let...

    Required Aircraft Flight Manual Supplements

I believe, in most cases, the AFMS must be printed and in the plane. Any other manual or quick reference guide is not approved by the FAA nor required to be in the plane.

    fuel flow reads 0 gph

It's not unheard of for them to fail. Start with checking the connections, but it's possible the little wheel in there has seized up and cleaning may work for a short time, but your best option is probably to replace it.

    Dynon Skyviews HDX in PA-28-180

Ready to deliver this PA-28-180 Panel. The Val Nav was already installed and works beautifully with the Skyview. Very impressive. A hole is cut for the AP Panel when the Auto Pilot is developed and approved for the PA-28's.

    Will King and Garmin 'talk'?

The problem is that you won’t have an annunciator that will tell you if it is in GPS or VLOC mode. The GTN will anúnciate this, but it is usually outside of the field of view required. Adding an annunciator/switch is probably more expensive than you want to mess with. I’d get an MD200 or a...

    encoder question

As long as you have an approved WAAS position source, that should be good. Whatever encoder you used before should work fine for the 330ES.

    KMA24 w/ Intercom Replacement

The PMA7000 units are compatible with the KMA24. You need to replace the tray, but the radio connections are the same connector as the KMA24. However, the PMA7000 has a built-in intercom, so that would need to be wired to the 7000 and removed from you current intercom. I don't know if the...

    EDM-700 w/ FF to EDM-900

I don't know that any sensors will need to change, at least not much. Depending on the cost, I am a real fan of the CGR-30, but you may be a little bit of install time ahead if the wiring to the 700 is similar to the 900. Beyond that, the CGR an GI275 may use different sensors than the JPI...

Silly Question time - all white wire?

"We" don't. Historically many or most wire in airplanes has been white, but this is not as common now. Most power wires are red, most grounds are black and lighting/dimmer wires are often yellow or orange. However, many audio and communication wires are shielded bundles, which are usually white...

    JPI Edm 830

It sounds like the output on the Agar in is set wrong. Set it to Aviation Format 1 and see if that works.

    Bare minimum equipment for IFR

I agree RNAV with non-GPS does not fit the OP, but it if possible with the right equipment. I’ve never flown an RNAV system, and have never worked on a panel with one in it that I didn’t remove. I also fully agree that true IFR flying without a GPS is complicated. Many airports will be out of...

    Bare minimum equipment for IFR

LNAV VNAV are RNAV approaches. You can’t do that without a go’s or an RNAV unit. You can do 3 of the first 4 listed. There is also a back course, which can be hard to find some places.
