    That's why there is the STC option, with can modify items in the TC. I think that is what the Avidyne system works through. I would imagine that would also be an option for the G1000.

    The TruTrak doesn’t require a GPS source, but you lose a lot of lateral functionality if you don’t have one. I’m not sure if the trio requires one or not, but the same situation as the TruTrak if you don’t have one.

    I used to have the EI CGR-30P, and I have installed a number of CGR's, including the dual system which was the P and the C. They are great gauges and work well. EI is a fantastic company to work with.

    We have installed a Trio in a Grumman, but it is not flying yet. Hopefully it will be flying in another week or two.

    You could replace the 250xl with a GPS175, GNC355 or GNX375. That would require that you add a GAD29, so make sure they wire the harness for that with the connector in reach of where the GAD29 can be mounted.

    Not much, but you will get an HSI on the DG if you connect to the 250XL. You would get to (and required to) remove the CDI for the 250. I don’t see the 250xl listed in the G5 install manual, but it may have been added in a later version.
