Delta knocks tail off other plane on ground

“Ladies and gentlemen good morning and welcome aboard delta 1234 non stop service to Birmingham. Well flying at 20000 feet and a speed of 500 mph. Takeoff to landing is 14 minutes. Currently we’re number 89 to push off the gate. I’ve instructed the flight attendants to serve refreshments...

    Considering a RV-6A But.......

Good airplane. One of the few homebuilts that will keep its value. Relatively easy to inspect. There are guys who specialize in pre buys for them. No red flags here. It is nice to buy from the builder, but hardly necessary. Like ANY equipment, the closer to original, the better.

    Pan Pan

This is what I was referring to. This is the primary factor, in my opinion. Great discussion, and you’ve clearly given it good critical thought. I guess I would add that NO ONE should hesitate for fear of regulation or inconvenience. It’s a tool you should take into consideration with the...

    Pan Pan

You answered your own question. Look at it this way, to WHOM are you declaring? We all know aviate, navigate, communicate. Sometimes communicate is a matter of urgent safety. So there I was…. er, not in the mood to type that much. A minor matter came up with a student once. I asked him...

Voepass Flight 2283, a large passenger plane, crashes in Vinhedo, Brazil

Hehe, I just did a maint flight after a major inspection. Never seen so many alerts and alarms in my life! OBVIOUSLY clear and a million…. At some point you just revert to basics, hopefully your basics are what ya need. THAT is where amazing training is WORTH IT. At the end of the flight...

Delta knocks tail off other plane on ground

I can tell you airline pilots believe staying on centerline will keep you clear of EVERYTHING essentially not in your sight. We also KNOW we are ultimately responsible. But we also MUST rely on others. There is NO specific training or real world exercise in close quarter taxiing at major...

Delta knocks tail off other plane on ground

Tons of irrelevant detail… This is likely gonna fall on the delta crew. You really should know where your wingtips are. Reality, especially in giant main line planes, they are catered to, they usually don’t have to worry about it. They were kinda lead down the primrose path. Both planes...

Voepass Flight 2283, a large passenger plane, crashes in Vinhedo, Brazil

Airline flying becomes VERY routine. Not becoming complacent is probably tougher than any actual flying.

Delta knocks tail off other plane on ground

A delta pilot is not used to EVER having to provide his own clearance. Honestly, most aren’t. Smaller outfits go where they have no support. Additionally, you can’t even see your wingtips in most of these things.

Why has Vashon sold so few Rangers, and will MOSAIC turn that around?

Why has Vashon sold so few Rangers, and will MOSAIC turn that around?

Awww, c’mon. Let’s say you’re hunting rodents. Smaller guns, less ammo, they’re more plentiful so ya don’t need to bring food. Can haul LOTS of dead ones of those. Everything falls into line. Course ya probably don’t need to fly into the bush to hunt rodents. And ramp fees in NYC are prolly bad…

Best Laid plans oft go astray (wx planning)

Playing layers VMC is dicey stuff… either you can see the ground or not. Either you can see the horizon or not. That is all you need. NEXRAD radar and METARS via ADSB is a little icing on the cake. Sounds like you did good. Insofar as the previous “missed opportunity”, it really wasn’t...

JURY CONVICTS PILOT OF LYING ON FAA MEDICAL APPLICATIONS

Well, it doesn’t matter that he’s a thief, just that he lied on a form… It’s a weird way of doing things. Of course the same thing got Al Capone… If this whole ATP and “good moral character” BS meant ANYTHING wouldn’t that be addressed by FAA enforcement? Was that mentioned?
