    Airline Exit Rows

Flight attendants absolutely can deny based on their observation. So can gate agents…. However, that is not their performance metric, and SADLY, unlike @Kritchlow, they usually do not get backed up by the captain. Can’t count how many times FAs came up saying some jackass pax wouldn’t listen...

The most epic thing you've ever seen?

I’ve given first rides to kids who are now professional aviators. It’s a VERY AWESOME thing to experience…. Conversely, I remember going to an airshow when I was 11. The blues were performing, I knew all about them, knew what I wanted to do, was busily bragging to my buddy who we took to the...

Anyone Need an Inch and a half Combo Wrench?

Many many thanks to @FormerHangie for meeting me today and passing off the BFW! In true addict fashion, I shall now go find things on which to use this… ha!! Maybe I’ll become a diesel mechanic… Mav, do you remember the name of that diesel mechanic school? Truck master I think it was… Tools

The most epic thing you've ever seen?

That inspires me to be in the industry… Watching the Blue Angels when I was 4, and knowing my dad was in the Navy.

    [N/A] Alcoholic fruits?

Can only bust 8 hr rule if you admit to it or have been observed by someone credible. Fair warning, faa uses their own unpublished standard for credible like everything else… Insofar as BAC, .04

Can anyone recommend a pre-buy mechanic for Cessna 182 around Memphis, TN (KMEM)?

Nope, but I can recommend a guy… he's a VERY experienced jumper (c license, tandem instructor, master rigger and as of yesterday a PPL!) who has managed a successful drop zone for YEARS. As a pilot for him I actually went on a couple of pre buys for 182s with him and was WILDLY impressed...

Voepass Flight 2283, a large passenger plane, crashes in Vinhedo, Brazil

Air France was stalled by aircrew because it was in some undefined alternate law regime, that happened because of the pitot system input failure. Aircrew is not taught how to handle this at all because it was considered too unlikely to happen. Exacerbated by the fact there was no visual...

1969 Cherokee 140B: Slow to climb

You KNOW you were slow to climb. You DONT KNOW you were at 2400 rpm or that you were 85 mph, as you only had one source. This is where I’d start looking first.

[N/A] What's your blood type and how is your relationship with Mosquitos?

Tabasco +, don’t get bit a lot. However, I rarely eat Mexican more than 3 times a day… People ask me if I put the stuff on EVERYTHING? I used to say everything but those things that go well with pancake syrup… but then I started finding spicy pancake syrup, so I guess yes. I literally put it...

Trained in 172 and want to move to a Cirrus

I think buying a cirrus (used or not) comes with a certain amount of transition training… I’d really consider just going that way.

    Pilot not qualified?

This can TOTALLY happen. Wouldn’t even be odd…. Just because it’s a big bad 121 doesn’t mean the most basic of mistakes can’t be made. In fact, it’s this simple chain of events that is REQUIRED for a mishap. Jackson Hole, Vail and Aspen were look at pictures quals.

    Pilot not qualified?

Ryan is wrong… the pics really aren’t that pretty. Seems there are a FEW really weird South American places that require a checkout… Can’t think of any US airports that were more than looking at pictures… Delta, USAJet, Everts Air Cargo, American Eagle to name a few.
