    Any Hunters in Here?

Definitely have to make sure she's locked away the concealed carry for the evening before I confess, lol.

    Any Hunters in Here?

Yeah, I always hear about "30-30 has dropped more deer than any other caliber", although I'm not sure how that data would have been collected aside from assumptions of frontier-days hunting for food.

Lol, well it may be better to ask for forgiveness than permission.

Pilot threatened with arrest for helping NC victims of Hurricane Helene...excuse me?

No good deed goes unpunished. Perfect example of "We're from the gov't and we're here to help"

    Any Hunters in Here?

Absolutely. Plus there's a lot of good practice with windage and bullet drop when you get past 100yds with .22LR since the round is so light.

    Any Hunters in Here?

Yeah, it'd be more like a "take it to the range along with some other guns just to shoot some targets, or coffee cans out in the pasture". Probably not a big deal regarding ammo cost as it'd be under 100rds/yr anyway. For high volume "plinking", a .22LR is a better option.

    Any Hunters in Here?

Solved most of that part already. Built an AR10 (LR308) in .308 w/20" barrel. Also bought a Tikka T3X in .308, simply for a lighter option when one purely hunting. Chose .308 mostly due to short action, tolerable recoil, and ease of finding a variety of .308 rounds pretty much anywhere ammo...

    Any Hunters in Here?

Question for the gallery: Deal or No-Deal: newer (not vintage/historic) Henry lever action 30-30, never fired, w/soft sided gun case, $400. Always thought having a 30-30 would be fun to have, iron sights, likely just as a target/plinking gun although plinking with $1.20/rd isn't the cheapest...

Governor signs ban on 100LL into law

Nothing preventing 100LL from being burned in Cali, just from being sold. Make sure to tanker plenty of fuel when you visit, lol.

Man who crashed snowmobile into a parked Black Hawk helicopter suing government for $9.5M

Sure, but the facts get a little muddied when the 1st-hand account is lost, not to mention the sway of an emotional plaintiff.

Man who crashed snowmobile into a parked Black Hawk helicopter suing government for $9.5M

Dead men are less likely to file suit in the first place.

    Safety; rules vs freedoms

Doesn't really matter to a Libertarian. They basically operate on the assumption that everyone is responsible for themselves, doesn't matter if you're a "paying customer". The recourse for a dead paying customer is via lawsuits by the surviving family in the court of law. I'm not being...

    Safety; rules vs freedoms

I don't think Libertarians would feel "salt in the wound" at all. For them, it's a perfect example of people being free to make their own choices unencumbered by government regulations. Sometimes those choices result in death, and most Libertarians are fine with that.

Another unleaded 100LL replacement approved (Swift 100R)

Well that, and the fact that the manufacturers like Cessna/Piper are some of the largest consumers of the Conti/Lyco engines and they'd have to do a good bit of recertification/design work in order to retrofit their aircraft to a FADEC engine. On an Experimental or a model refresh the paperwork...

Elon does not read this forum, apparently

Ah, the good old "appeal to authority" fallacy. Never mind the volumes of first-hand accounts from service-men and women who describe the mountains of waste and inefficiency. Legislative bills containing $120M provisions for tanks which the Army says it didn't need or want. Accounts of...

Boeing CEO is taking a pay cut

I dunno, I can sit there with a blank look on my face for a long time if you're paying me $4MM/year. I'll probably even sleep good afterwards lol.

Interesting that making a comment (good or bad) about the military would require having served. They exist largely to protect Constitutional rights . . . like freedom of speech. Not sure why not having served should preclude anyone from having anyone from having an opinion about it.
