These folks need to be stopped.

"I can't tell you what it was or give any examples but I have definitely seen this causing complications". Convincing. Thanks for confirming zero documented impact at all in three years. Maybe I'm wrong though; if this ALPA guidance was even a minor contributory factor to a potential issue...

These folks need to be stopped.

Educate us, then. Tell us about how the sky has fallen over the last three years. The policy is pretty silly but anyone who doesn't have the emotional maturity to just shrug and say "yeah, whatever" has no place in the cockpit (sorry, flight deck) of an airliner.

These folks need to be stopped.

Because if literally anything had changed, there'd be legions of pilots whining on social media about how they are being oppressed.

These folks need to be stopped.

Didn't we have to put up with enough whining about this the first time around? In the three years since, has the sky fallen? Has literally anything changed at all? No, didn't think so.

    Dan Gryder Lockheed Electra Crash

I suppose it could be argued that Gryder is thought provoking, particularly if the specific thought provoked is "Wow, what a tit".

    Dan Gryder Lockheed Electra Crash

We have experts for a reason. Not many of us are actually equipped to do our own primary research. What most people seem to consider "doing their own research" is scrolling through YouTube until they find a crackpot who supports their own preconceptions. "Doing your own research" here would...

    Greenland pilot ?

Nobody checked my insurance when I flew through. I stopped in Narsarsuaq and Kulusuk. Which section of the AIP are you referring to?

    Greenland pilot ?

I don't know any pilots in Greenland, but I flew through there myself, and know quite a few others who have also been. Happy to help as much as I can.

And if you think *that's* bad - this one from Dubai to Auckland turned around and landed after 13 hours!

    Insurance Insanity (Non-Aviation)

Thanks. Good luck paying more and dying younger.

    Insurance Insanity (Non-Aviation)

This is Stockholm syndrome. The only reason that the absurdly high prices are quoted up front is due to the way the insurance companies work. If they weren't involved then the up front price would have been sensible to start with. Try pricing say a hip replacement as a cash customer in the US...

    Insurance Insanity (Non-Aviation)

I think the biggest chunk of the difference would come from the fact that while all the other countries are paying for actual healthcare, the US is paying for both their healthcare and also millions of useless insurance middle-men who are nothing but leaches on the system, and actively get in...

    Insurance Insanity (Non-Aviation)

Why would I need to try again? You literally posted your own example of a non-sensical decision where funneling money to a particular "favoured" provider took priority over using the money efficiently to help patients, despite your best efforts as the actual professional.

    Insurance Insanity (Non-Aviation)

100% yes. I have lived in five of the countries on the chart, and the US system is so inferior overall that it's sad. Note that most Americans are ignorant of the fact that private insurance is available, and affordable, in pretty much all of the countries mentioned.

    Insurance Insanity (Non-Aviation)

"Ignorance" is an amusing claim. Perhaps if medical professionals had more say than insurance staff I'd believe you. Look how well it's working:

    Insurance Insanity (Non-Aviation)

The American health system is designed to keep people alive just long enough to drain their wallet. The motive is profit, not well-being.

VFR to IFR upgrade (before delivery of new aircraft)

How exactly does the engine/prop need to change with an avionics alteration?

This one is VERY hard to listen to...I'm guessing another "cognitive decline"...

Not often I hear as big a disaster as this guy. Got to be some kind of senility issue, surely.

The amazing cryogenic JPI EDM 930

JPI analysed the first defective unit, and found what they described as a "suspect" component. Based on that they suggested that the installation should be OK, and sent out a third unit, first testing it extensively over a few days. Since installing the third unit I have flown about 40 hours...
