It took me a long time to realize this is a fly in located in Belgium. In addition, both links are giving out a 403 error.

Total Solar Eclipse on Monday, April 8, 2024

Good to know what places to avoid. Not that I'm a party pooper but I want to watch the eclipse then head out to Sun&Fun.

Total Solar Eclipse on Monday, April 8, 2024

I could wait a year to experience Sun&Fun again, I will have to wait 20 years to experience another total eclipse. A once-in-a-20-year event is by definition quite special.

Total Solar Eclipse on Monday, April 8, 2024

I'm honestly rather annoyed that Sun&Fun scheduled their airshow a DAY AFTER the eclipse. The eclipse's "path" was well known for a few years now and Florida is quite a ways away from the optimal course. I'm seriously considering delaying or completely avoiding sun&fun this year because I'd...

Welcome to the hostile interwebs. This is a bot that detected you are running tomcat and is most likely attempting to login using the default username/password, which I believe is tomcat/tomcat. The user is locked because tomcat detected a brute force attack. If you're still using the default...

KMER Castle Airport CA - Castle Air Museum

I've been to castle airport at least 12 times. I felt like a kid in a candy store every single time. Highly recommend if you haven't been, Castle Air Museum is a very short walk from the airport and admission is pretty cheap and completely worth it.

    Sun 'n Fun 2023

I'm mostly a lurker here and I attended SnF for the first time last year. It felt pretty lonely on my own, I tried making new friends but it's difficult when you're an introvert. I will definitely go again, but I would love some advice on planning to meet with others.

Is there a way to correct or propose corrections to an entry? Or link to a specific restaurant entry? I think Rick's Cafe Boatyard is incorrectly marked as located at 51OK instead of EYE. Also, would it be possible to add a feature to find places in a path between two (or more) airports? would...

I figured out the issue I was having - the www subdomain is not set up and therefor https://www.flightsforbites.com/ doesn't work but omitting the www does. I don't know if @Mahneuvers wants to fix this or not, it's not a huge issue but definitely caught me by surprise. I filled up a bunch of...

Reminder that port 80 requires root. ubuntu should already have nginx running and configured out of the repos, you just need to point it to the port that Tomcat is running (which should be set to not 80, some usual candidates are 3000, 6000 and 8080)

If you're overwhelmed, let me know and we could discuss outside of the forum. Most of that guide is junk/fluff and you most likely don't need 90% of that.

I'm not here to judge, I'm trying to be helpful :) I've been doing professional software engineering for over 15 years, I'm here to help and mentor. I do admire your attitude, some people only learn by doing it themselves.

Don't set up SSL directly on Tomcat, use nginx as a reverse proxy (and potentially load balancer) and let certbot do its thing. Let me know if you want help setting it up.

Carbon neutral jet fuel production from water and CO2

It's literally reverse combustion. In normal combustion, carbon chains and oxygen are burned to produce CO₂ and water (H₂O). In theory any reaction can be reversed. A great example for this is an LED light, which is a diode that emits light. Some diodes are made in a way where they absorb light...
