What happens if you fly a drone in a moving elevator?

Fair point... but think of the implications. Because I'm lazy. Beam me up, Scotty... not make me climb.

What happens if you fly a drone in a moving elevator?

Gotcha... and I sure hope not. I wouldn't want to be in that elevator, at least :-)

How to crash land an Airplane on a freeway.

Yep... if they won't give me a waiver of subrogation (which they won't), my own named insurance would be a hard requirement. Last thing I need is an insurance company suing me for the cost of an airplane.

Hangar used for storage not aircraft

Unfortunately, that attitude is just as bad as NIMBY. If you don't hold people accountable, fraud becomes the norm. This is tax dollars we're talking about -- Hard earned labor that all of us have earned and provided for the collective good. The collective good is not the airport owner making...

How to crash land an Airplane on a freeway.

The animations make that video. I lost it with the bike cutting around the accident.

Best 18650 Batteries I've Ever Used

Have you seen the Mooch battery tests out there? He does some pretty thorough testing on batteries for the online vape communities. Seems like he did one on these...

Must Safety Pilot Have Complex Endorsement?

To which part? The original post? Agreed. The reply a couple above you about sole manipulator? Sure can log PIC as sole manipulator even without.

What happens if you fly a drone in a moving elevator?

Correct. Once acceleration ceases and inertia has done its thing, it will find homeostasis and will move with the mass containing it. A ping pong ball being rattled never gets that opportunity.

What happens if you fly a drone in a moving elevator?

Sure, but that's a bit too simple. If the drone is powered off, sure... But shaking the ping pong ball induces far more acceleration, so of course it'll rattle around, and the ping pong ball isn't producing lift, doesn't have a computer providing stability control with 3D gyros, and won't...

    DC One-X or Zulu 3s

While I'll agree they're not the prettiest things, they're super light and quiet... plus, they'll take a beating. If you do have issues, they stand behind their product, too. I've had mine for years and put them through hell. A buddy with CAs? Already had to have speakers replaced and has...

Hangar used for storage not aircraft

Washington is generally out of touch, yes, but that doesn't mean you ignore funding stipulations. There are other funds available for other things. Frankly, I dislike these funds being made available. The states and municipalities could/should be doing this on their own... but the feds are...

What happens if you fly a drone in a moving elevator?

The issue here is that elevators aren't sealed and there's acceleration. Air moves through them vertically as the elevator moves up and down. The drone will remain fixed relative to the air its in, which will move some as the elevator goes up and down. Even if it were sealed, there'd be some...

Hangar used for storage not aircraft

It's our tax dollars being used for a specific purpose: Aviation. Do you want earmarked aviation dollars that you have provided to be used for general purpose storage units? That's really what it's about. If it's private funds, it's absolutely a local matter by those who own it... but if...

Jeppesen discontinues NavData for GX series

There was likely a misunderstanding, then. While there are ways to do exactly what you're talking about, you're not limited. If you don't believe me, the source of truth is here: https://developer.android.com/guide/topics/location/strategies

Jeppesen discontinues NavData for GX series

Wifi augmentation is an optional thing, it's entirely unnecessary. The battery optimization is also optional, and GPS intensive apps (eg Garmin Pilot, or even Google Maps) will request what is effectively "high precision mode" which also disables those features. And I'm not sure who would tell...

What was that about AoA again?

There has to be more to that story. What is the root cause that leads the system to detect a stall and activate the stick pusher? That's what I want to know... and is it actually any different than anything else?

Jeppesen discontinues NavData for GX series

While you're not wrong about the resiliency of the platform, you do know these have full blown GPS receivers, right? I'm worried your information may be a bit dated. Even the low-end phones handle 3D accuracy as well as any other non-SBAS GPS receiver. The wifi augmentation was developed when...

    Oshkosh - 2019

You could still fly in to OSH and get reasonable local accommodations. We've been staying in the dorms, and so long as you don't mind reliving college a little bit, it's a great deal. The showers are a little bit of a step up from a truck! https://uwosh.edu/gcc/home/eaa-airventure-lodging/
