Brand New Guy with a (maybe) Stupid Question

I would submit NOT to make your decision based on that first flight alone...your body will hate the sensation, your brain will hate the "fluidity" of the situation...flying is something that gets more and more enjoyable the more you do it.

Disappointed with Dare to Dream at KFXE

Excellent. I'm glad you have it resolved. I didn't call you cause I hadn't been able to make it there (it's a bit far for me) Luis.

    failed checkride

This was your main problem. This examiner is an ****ole on top of being expensive. Gather yourself and find a different examiner for your next one. My examiner told me "fly like you would in the real world". IPad and all. The rest, you will get in real life little by little.

    Pirep: Dare To Dream KFXE

They are still there. I stopped in that office last Monday with a fellow club member...we had been flying a Diamond that he rented there. @asgcpa PM me with your phone...maybe I can have my fellow club member look into that for you (he trained there and rents often) or I can go myself and help...

    Build My Panel

The Stratus2 does not *know* that you're ADS-B out, nor does it need to. All it does is pickup the signal (TIS-B, traffic) that your ADS-B out solution is making the nearby towers generate when you fly by them. Just like you can pickup traffic if you happen to be flying in the same "hockey puck"...

So how did this guy pass his check ride?

Maybe it needs character, but more than that it takes complete naivette. Listen Matt, read the comments on this forum with a truck load of salt (not necessarily Bill Jennings', I just happened to pick a random posting to reply to) Never, EVER, share anything on this (or any other pilot's)...

That's what I'm talking about....ONLY in America baby!!!!! GOD BLESS THE USA !!!!!! PS: Nice looking kids BTW...hope more of them would get into aviation instead of wasting away in front of computer games and clouds of pot smoke. ("Not that there's anything wrong with that" Jerry Seinfeld)

    "Descend Pilots Discretion Maintain..."

I believe this is satisfied when you acknowledge your clearance: "Leaving 7000 for 6000 at my discretion, N12345" At that point your newly assigned altitude becomes 6000, even if you hang around at 7000 for a while. It doesn't make sense to have to tell when you actually leave. If it did...

    "Descend Pilots Discretion Maintain..."

Ok perfect! You're an experienced controller (re-read your previous posts :). So my guess is that the airspace is empty (as far as you know) so it's ok to issue them?
