Everyone says that they will remember their first solo for the rest of their lives - but in that statement there's also the much less often mentioned subtext that they will also remember the CFI that got them to that point. Good to see that you're so happy and surely that fact is not unnoticed by the student.

Kewl. How many students do you have? Are you able to do it full time?
I have a handful or so, enough to keep me busy. I really only teach on the weekends, as I have a day job throughout the week.

Too long ago to remember, but I do recall he raced motorcycles and snowmobiles and had wonderful motor skills. I did solo one young woman who did six go-arounds in a row. She's an airline pilot now.

All I remember about the first guy I soloed is that another student walked up to me as I was watching the solo student in the pattern and said, “Don’t worry, the lawyers will straighten it all out.”

I think you left out a key part...did they survive?
I remember how nervous I was with the first one. He was a great pilot and has gone on to do things I can only dream of, but that feeling of did I train him well enough? Someone I taught now has to do it on their own!
