the "not worthy of it's own thread" thread

Mars and the moon are doing a cross over thing tonight.

That’s why you have decoy e mail address. I have one on Yahoo years old that has about 10,000 unread e mails.
10,000 unread is amateur hour. I can ignore emails like nobody’s business.

The larger email service providers (Yahoo, Gmail, Outlook, etc) these days provide the ability to add additional email addresses (aliases) to an account. Just create a few, hand those out, and then when things get annoying simply delete the alias.
I consider aliases "fire and forget" . . . I give the address out . . . Then I never even go back and look . . ..

I like this tangent...

There was some sci-fi movie or series where the rough plot was that for 24 hours each year, there were no laws. Never watched it, seemed goofy violent.

But...imagine if advertising and marketing were only legal for 24 hours each year. Just one day. Violate it, and your company is sold off at auction. I'm sure some people would wait in anticipation just to see what wonderful and creative things they'd see during that time. And some people, like me, would get 24 hours of naps, bbq, and having every electronic device they own off.

Q: Where would you park a tank?

A: Anywhere you want to.

If you sign up for a DuckDuckGo account, they'll generate one-off email addresses for you to use for various businesses. They also strip trackers out of emails and do a bunch of other privacy-related stuff. Might be worth looking into the more privacy concerned folks out here.

If I ever lose my medical, this will be next on the list:
Thanks for being selfish and not posting an actual link to the for-sale ad. I'll give you the right of first refusal when my wife finds out about it, which is hopefully long enough down the road that you will have lost your medical and I will be able to say "The tank? Honey, we've always had that tank!" with a straight face.

I'll stick with the cancer, thankyouverymuch

So, does California cause cancer . . . or paying taxes?
Both, apparently.

The other night my wife and I settled in to watch a movie and the first thing to pop up was the proposition 65 warning. I think the movie was made in California...

Years ago I bought a specialty radio receiver, and in the manual it said it wasn't legal for sale in California or any other place where you couldn't buy rifles. Not sure the reasoning, but guessing the owners of the company weren't fond of or just didn't want to understand CA law. I can understand that.

I’ve been watching a few Pilot Debrief videos lately. It seems that to not be featured in his videos is to first not be raving stupid.

- load plane up with passengers and luggage and do no W&B
- fly IMC without being IFR licensed or current
- take off without knowing what fuel you have
- flying into a storm because…… (I don’t know why someone would do this)

I’m not perfect, nor will ever be. It none-the-less makes me feel good that I can better my odds greatly by just taking a second to think about things.

You can avoid being in one of his videos by not being an attractive woman. Or by not doing anything that can be defined by a clickbaity title.

Can’t remember an attractive women video. I’ve watched the ones with a middle aged guy packing three guys and their fishing gear over weight and fly into a canyon. Or a guy fly a Pilatus with minimal training.
