New FAA Color Vision Flow Chart

Seems like an entirely unnecessary flow chart. Why not just describe the single category of returning applicants who need the new test?

Correct. For a upgrade you need to pass the Computer color test stds.

Per the flowchart, I’d have “passed any FAA approved color vision test” though, right? Or whatever test I was given to get the 3rd class. (I have no color vision issues/SODA, etc).

does that really surprise you doc, that the FAA changes things and does not tell the people that have to administer the change?

So according to this flowchart, if someone has limitation 16 or 17 on a 3rd class medical and does NOT wish to upgrade, they don't need to take the new color vision tests and item 52 will be marked as pass. That seems like a flaw...
