Hi everyone, this is not an aviation-themed book but it might interest people here as I know there are several former military members here. This is out for pre-sales, release 7 Dec. So far an ebook & paperback but will release an audio version later; prices go up after release. Might seem a weird day to release a book then but Pearl Harbor Day plays a special role in submarine history, here is a quote from Admiral Nimitz:

When I assumed command of the Pacific Fleet in 31 December, 1941; our submarines were already operating against the enemy, the only units of the Fleet that could come to grips with the Japanese for months to come. It was to the Submarine Force that I looked to carry the load until our great industrial activity could produce the weapons we so sorely needed to carry the war to the enemy. It is to the everlasting honor and glory of our submarine personnel that they never failed us in our days of peril.

Submarines sank 55% of Japanese shipping sunk in that war despite being less than 2% of the navy, and incurred the heaviest losses (22%) of any American force. I touch on that in the book but mostly it is about driving subs against the Russians in the last days. I shot for a 20th century "Two Years Before the Mast", will see if I hit it!

Is it for sale? I do enjoy setting down there now and again. Hard to tell why it exists though. Was there a marble factory there at one point? Seem to be alot in the ground there. I fly out of MRB.

The intro on Amazon is so well done I can see why people want to read it.

I'll be a buyer when the audible version comes out .
