I have a history of alcoholism and during one of my random tests, I failed. Ultimately leading to the decision of the FAA to deny my request. I have been sober for over a year and wondering if I can reapply. I'm willing to go through the entire process again. Does anyone know if this is even possible?

There’s LOTS of part 121 airline guys who have “failed” numerous times. They seem to have no problem. I would say yes, it can be done.

Whilst possible, why not wait for several more years to see if your sobriety "sticks"?

Follow the HIMS protocol including the 14 in 12 randoms with assist from an appropriate AME so you can have documented sobriety. Attend alcohol treatment meetings twice weekly for 24mos and actually get a sponsor, participate/follow recommendations vs warming a chair and drinking free coffee :). When obtaining/reinstating your certificate becomes secondary to sobriety, then reapply. I know it's and old adage but if you can't maintain sobriety, nothing else matters.
