Hello. I'd appreciate any insights/guidance anyone might be able to offer, because I'm not getting any from the FAA.

My class 3 medical application was deferred in April 2022 for a history of major depressive disorder and ADHD. Sent everything the FAA requested (incl a Cogscreen which I believe I did well on) and received word at the end of June 2023 that my file had been sent to the Federal Air Surgeon's office in Washington, DC for review. I rang the FAA in July of this year and an analyst said I was about #30 in the queue for review. I know they'll get to it when they get to it, but it's a bit frustrating, sat here 16 months later without an answer.

Does anyone have any idea how much longer they will take to pull my file? Do they even go in order, or is it just at random? Do I have any other recourse here?

Thanks in advance.

My Class III medical was unexpectedly deferred to FAA-OKC in April 2023. After receiving a letter from the FAA in May 2023 I assembled a records package and sent that to the FAA at the end of Jul 2023 for their review. No response until Mar 2024, when they requested more records. A second records package was sent in April 2024 for their review, followed by receipt of a denial letter in May 2024.

I have that in my file- if it’s moderate it requires a special issuance. I defer to the experts.

These are "forever". Once they get to the FAS, think about 7 months....Feb 2025. They have NO timeline.

Disappointing if the expected wait is 7 months and I'm at 16 going on 17 - but I suppose they're not happy until I'm not happy. Thank you Dr Chien for the reply.
