I’m thinking of getting one. Have a plug in one now. Got it for $75 at an Estate Sale ‘bout 8 years ago. It went nips up. I’m tired of wrestling with extension cords. Anyone have a battery one? The one I’m considering is a 40 Volt Ryobi. Small yard, about 15-20 minutes to cut. Whadda ya think.
 
I have had a 56V Ego with a 21 inch cut width for 7 years. It has worked real well and I’d get one again. A 20 minute cut is well within what I’ve gotten out a battery.

Edit to add: I also have one of their leaf blowers and a power tool head that powers the string trimmer, edger and a hedge trimmer accessories I have. Uses the same battery and I’d also recommend them.

Go for it. My 40V sun joe is great for my small lawn.

I've had a Skill 40V mower and blower for the last few years. Barely puts a dent in the battery on my small yard.
 
I have the Ego walk behind mower, blower, and the power head string trimer/hedge trimmer
Expensive but I'd buy it again. I have three different sized batteries but they all will work any any device.
The larger battery that came with the mower will get my whole yard as long as it's not too long or too wet. If either of those are the case then it tends to stall if you're not careful because my grass is zoysia and is very thick, and it'll run through the battery before I'm done. Rough guess using google map's measure tool, maybe 7,000 Sf of grass

I got sick of pulling that cord for things that didn't feel like running today, and much prefer pressing a button...Bonus for a nice low hum that doesn't demand hearing protection

Since getting noise cancelling headphones and listening to podcasts on my chores, I haven't been salty about mowing even a single time. If I'm doing the lawn, it takes 40 minutes or so. Adding the trails makes it a bit over two hours. It's been game changing.
 
One other point.

A guy I used to work with was backing up with his mower when he tripped. His (and yours) reaction was to hang on to the handle as he fell which pulled the running mower over his foot. Score: Mower 1, end of his foot 0.

With an electric, you just let go of the safety thing and let it quit when you want to back up because it requires exactly zero effort to restart when you want to continue mowing - unlike gas.

Small yard only, don't let the grass grow too high. I've been very disappointed with battery powered chainsaws, etc.

On my drive to the airport I pass a yard with a robotic mower. It’s out there about every day doing its thing and it does a good job.

I've been eyeing the Yarbo as it seems like it might actually be big enough to do my lawn, and has attachments to do other duties like blowing snow in the winter too. I'm not quite there yet, but thinking about it...
