Our Thursday was "interesting."

The good news is, she's back on her feet, not too badly damaged from the initial look at her.

Also... I'm still looking for a 182.

You're not supposed to land on the displaced threshold. I have a number for you. Advise ready to copy

Down but not locked? I thought Cessnas had a little hand pump for that? Blown hose/seal? The Cessna gear system always looked a little sketchy to me.

Hard to tell on my phone 210 or 177? Yours?

Real bummer. Looks like you saved the engine & prop though, so hopefully she won't be down too long.

Not much landed in the the displaced threshold, looks like he just drug the hanging gear in the displaced threshold. Probably wouldn't have even touched it the gear had been locked into position instead of hanging down farther than he probably expected:).

Nicely done!

and probably the only time an oil leak would be helpful ;)
In this case, an oil leak forced our hand - a second aircraft system issue meant that we didn't have any more time to troubleshoot the gear, and chose to shut down the engine to avoid it possibly seizing. We had enough fuel left to contemplate trying to get someone to pull the gear down at another airport, but decided that was no longer an option.
