If you’re an AOPA member, you may have seen this already.

BL: ATP and apparent Part 121 pilot convicted for failing to disclose a recent conviction for stealing luggage from baggage claim. Twice. Up to five years in the federal penitentiary for each failure to disclose.

Maybe the next time he’ll disclose both convictions.

He is a POS who deserves to be grounded for life, but what does a theft conviction have to do with being medically fit to fly?
 
Kleptomania is a psychological condition, so maybe crazy people shouldnt fly?
 
The real question is how many times did he steal luggage and not get caught.

The criminal history check for the security badge is likely why the FAA discovered this.
 
Well, it doesn’t matter that he’s a thief, just that he lied on a form…

It’s a weird way of doing things.

Of course the same thing got Al Capone…

If this whole ATP and “good moral character” BS meant ANYTHING wouldn’t that be addressed by FAA enforcement? Was that mentioned?

imagine if the FAA also did anything, wouldn't people complain that the FAA was piling on?

Those questions are about psychological factors which can have effects on flying.

Who said it didn’t matter? The lie was failing to disclose his conviction for the thefts.
 
And the theft case was less than 2 years ago.
