I'm looking at buying a Cessna 182 (post 1970) and would like to find a pre-buy mechanic to help with the process. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Did you ever find anyone? I’m looking as well

Nope, but I can recommend a guy… he's a VERY experienced jumper (c license, tandem instructor, master rigger and as of yesterday a PPL!) who has managed a successful drop zone for YEARS.

As a pilot for him I actually went on a couple of pre buys for 182s with him and was WILDLY impressed. Does a bang up job installing avionics as well.

Knows what to look for, can read logbooks… if I was buying one, I’d use him in a heartbeat (and I’m a AandP).

Happy to pass along his contact info if ya wanna chat with him.

Paul New at Tennessee Aircraft is probably the leading expert on Cessna singles in the USA. If you're in the area and they can get you on their schedule, there is no better choice.
