Well, back from Oshkosh and it was time to get back to work! We flew with Warren and his son in their Cessna 140A. Fun shoot near Bridgeport, Texas.

Usually the breakaway shots are the last thing I do. This time, we had a little sunlight left, so I decided we should take a closer look at the American flag nearby!

Wow, spectacular air-to-air shots. Love that first flag photo and all of the grins/smiles.

Look at the grins on their faces in the first pic. Quality father/son time at it's finest.
Exactly what I noticed, too. I don't think there's a single shot where at least one of them isn't smiling!

The 140 is a special airplane and that is a very nice example
Great photos

Another one for Jack that went over the center field fence and hasn’t landed yet. Of course, I’m partial to 140’s so that helps.

Yep, Cessna 140’s are such cool little ships! I have absolutely no need for a 140, but dang it, I kinda want one…

I've had two and miss them both. We had 5 of them in our group of friends in Texas and would often fly 2 hours or more to lunch. Burning 4.5 GPH made that decision an easy one!

I don’t have a NEED for it either, but when I got my first Mooney, I just couldn’t bear to part with her. I fly the Mooney for traveling and enjoy buzzing my daughters place and shooting approaches, but it doesn’t take the place of “The Piggy.” When I want to fly low and slow around the lake, or go on a short breakfast run, or see the moon go down on a clear morning.

When I got the 140 many years ago and was showing it to my daughter I explained that the 140 had picked up weight like I have since 1948, and my daughter said “like Miss Piggy?” So, the 140 has been known as “The Piggy” all over the airport ever since.

Last week I was headed home on a beautiful early morning on our uncontrolled airport and called a left downwind. Someone then came on the radio saying “here…. Piggy, piggy, piggy…..”

Jack, when you were here last time I started to ask about photographing the piggy, but you seemed tied up with the Stinsons. Kelly said a long time ago he would let me know when you’re coming, but he is pretty covered up busy most of the time. If you remember next time to give me a heads up when you’re coming and would have time I would like to do it if I’m available.

I will refrain from hijacking the thread with a picture of “ The Piggy.”
