What is this?

Only one in existence... So if that's Rome, Georgia that'd be the correct answer.

I saw this at Paulding (KPUJ), not too far from Rome GA. I just read that the museum used to be in Rome, but it is now listed as being in Paulding..

How did you ever dig that factoid up? Double points on that one.

I suppose you could do a square Napier Deltic but I have never heard of such a thing.

Kind of sad / after all of that it’s sitting outside in back of Paulding airport surrounded by a mix of random jeeps, artillery pieces, a cobra helicopter, etc.

The answer is far less impressive.

"The museum’s BTD-1 Destroyer is on loan from the National Naval Aviation Museum in Pensacola, Florida and is the last remaining BTD-1 Destroyer. "

From the article:

“The resulting aircraft, designed by a team led by Ed Heinemann,”

Makes you wonder if he’s a relative. Not a common last name.

From a goog image search: The Douglas BTD Destroyer is an American dive/torpedo bomber developed for the United States Navy during World War II. A small number had been delivered before the end of the war, but none saw combat.

It was claimed, but so were many other things.
