Just got these installed and noticed that the GTR200B doesn't identify the radio stations. Page 4 of the User Manual says, "When connected to a device that provides nearby frequency information, nearby station identifiers will be shown for the selected frequency."

Has anyone gotten these two boxes to talk to each other? I don't know if my installer even connected them.

As I recall, the GNX375 is not a device that provides nearby frequency information. The protocol is described in section 2.2.4 and 2.2.5 of the install manual.
This corresponds to the old SL40 protocol, which was originally provided by the old Apollo CNX80 which became the Garmin GNS480 (see appendix B-2).
Even the GTN series doesn't (or didn't) provide the information either (section 5.5.1.2)
The Aera660 can push frequency information, but only if MapMX is turned off.

My 375 provides my Garmin Nav/Comms with the geo data for them to work properly. I have a gnc255 and gtr 225.
The GTR200 works a bit differently than the GTR225. The 225 has a built-in database, as evidenced by the fact that you have to pay Garmin separately from the GPS to keep it up to date. All it needs from the GPS is your location. The GTR200 is more like the old SL30/SL40 in that it uses the database that lives in the GPS. Unfortunately for Garmin, they get less money from you that way.

Gotcha. Didn’t know anything about the gtr200.

Garmin just announced the GTR205x. It has an option for either an internal database like the certified GTR225/GTR205 or an external database like the old SL40.
See page 3-17 of the Pilot Guide:

My guess is that they'll be discontinuing the GTR200. Unfortunately, the GTR205x is not a slide-in replacement since it uses a 62 pin connector while the GTR200 uses a 37 pin connector.
