Were the piano keys used for all year models and variants of the models, or did Cessna change it up at some point?

I looked at a 156 C172B.
It had the key board panel.

The 140s didn't have them until 1947. Not sure on the 170s.

I beleive they were found on 1947 and on 140s, not for sure how long but they were not found in the 120. They are stunningly beautiful and can be polished, never got mine as polished as mine.

I believe they are the prettiest interiors in that model. Mine made Flying Magazine a handful of years ago.

I never have really cared for art deco style, but there is something I like about a nicely restored panel from that era in these Cessnas....

Thanks!
I was just wondering since I see some photos of panels without the piano keys and I couldn't make sense of it. So basically in the 140 line, the first year of production didn't have the piano keys...and never in the 120's. Interesting.

I do not believe 120's were made with an electrical system.

An electrical system was optional on the 120, very few without one, at least added by now. But from the factory a 120 could have came with or without one.

They are identical airframes, the 140 just had electrical standard, jazzier panel, the rear “D” window and “flaps”. Quotation marks are understood by anyone who has used 140 “flaps” :)

I wanted the keys but my 54 170b has pull knobs. Most As I have seen have the keys, some Bs too.
