My wife gave me flying lessons for my 50th birthday in 1993, which really was permission to spend some pennies--far more than she realized at the time. Now I am a 2600-hour commercial pilot, instrument rated, and own a lovely 2002 Turbo 182. I am a professor of medicine at the University of Washington and the Battelle Memorial Institute, where I am involved in research in STDs and HIV.
Wine, biking, skiing--and flying!
