When not writing, Domenick may be found piloting his small plane, salmon fishing from a yellow Tupperware kayak, homebrewing, and roasting coffee. He stokes an occasional cigar, tips fine bourbons, and enjoys a robust stout.
A lifelong resident of beautiful, rugged Washington State, Domenick has led a variegated life. Many jobs—fast food, itinerant farm worker, ranch hand, snake handler, demolition man, book buyer, taxi driver, carpenter, biologist, and software engineer. Fascinated by the intersection of biology and computation, he dedicated three decades to the rough and tumble science of pioneering, iconic, Seattle biotech.
Along the way, he became a fisherman, mechanic, scuba diver, photographer, beekeeper, homebrewer, competitive shooter, pilot, coffee roaster, and kayak angler. Throughout it all, was a compulsion to put thoughts and feelings into words—to tell stories. Domenick’s broad experience, meticulous research, and ranging mind bring authenticity and accuracy, emotion and action to his storytelling.
Domenick is a judge for the Clive Cussler Collector’s Society Adventure Writer’s Competition, a responsibility he greatly enjoys.
