I spent six years in the US Navy operating and maintaining the propulsion and electric plant on a Destroyer and a Guided Missile Cruiser. Since then I've worked in operations at a couple of power plants and now work as a contracts administrator at a combined cycle power plant south of Tulsa, OK. I started taking flying lessons from a friend in a Cessna 152 in 2013 and in July 2014 passed the private pilot checkride. Over the next few years I got checked out in a variety of airplanes including C172, C182, C162, DA20, PA28 (140, 160, & 180) and I got my HP and complex endorsements in a friend's V-35A Bonanza. I also spent five years volunteering with the Civil Air Patrol qualifying for all aircrew positions including Mission Pilot. After almost 10 years of renting I finally bought a 1976 C172M in 2013 and used it to get my instrument rating and flew a lot of XC's in it. Three years later I traded the C172 for a 1976 C177B Cardinal which we continue to fly 150+ hours/year and just can't get enough!
