Jesus! I've worked in & around enough emergency services to stay the hell away from ladders. I won't even own anything higher than a stepstool. Risk/reward just isn't there.

Stages, SRM, Quark, even the old school Powertap. They're all fine. Stages just went belly up so you can probably get some nice deals. Garmin if you like to swap bikes a lot, and don't have any special pedal preferences. Don't expect different power meters to give you closely comparable...
