    BasicMed expansion?

That is very interesting. No way they would find a violation in the data, then go back and find a reason to 'go check the ads-b data' and getcha that way, is there? No, the government would never do that. Right?

    530 repair

Surprised the economics have not driven a non-oem repair market, sort of like the one for the kx-155 radios.

kontiki, good reminders on purpose, sizing & placement etc of the protection. If anyone, anyone at all wants to try to answer my question, that would be equally (or even more so) be of value - thank you. I promise not to assume the manufacturer has the sizing of the wire or protective device...

    530 repair

Avionics tech says intermittent, internal fault on the comm side only. Repair options… strictly factory? How does that usually play out?

    Air Conditioner inline breaker

Hi Gary I dont think the manufacturer is saying it’s wrong to using a fusible link, and I was saying simply that’s it’s my preference to use a CB. Wondering if anyone can suggest one. Thank you

    Air Conditioner inline breaker

The manufacturer says: "We are recommending you purchase a 60 amp inline breaker or fusible link at the battery." without any suggestion of what brand CB, or what CB might work. (won't be using a fuse) Ideas welcome.

    Plane purchase 1st time

Low cylinders by itself is not a reason to walk away. Cylinders are a consumable; a commonly replaced item. (just make sure they are available for that engine, and check on a price to replace them all as you note) Low cylinders or other defects are a good bargaining point. Look at the engine as...

    Plane purchase 1st time

It depends on how detailed you want to get. I have known people to buy sight unseen, with no due diligence (prebuy or title search) and a handshake and it working out fine. However there are plenty of stories of this not working out at all! Some people want a microscopic dissection of the...

    trouble light, work light

It would not cost much to buy a few 8 foot LED overhead strip lights, I've done three hangars now. Cheap, easy to install, blindingly bright much less eye strain. Unless you are talking about working under the panel or something like that.

I had @ArrowFlyer86 ‘s almost exact experience with Hertz agreeing to rent, then denying me at the counter at the start of a 2-week vacation! “DNR” They had no clue why. Took many phone calls and emails to get their error cleared up so I could rent from them or their affiliates. I need to test...

    GPS approach downgrade

Yesterday I was flying into an airport in which the ceiling continued to lower until at approach time, it was at LPV minimums for ceiling (vis was 7). That's cool I thought; might make it in. Passing the IAF, had LPV illuminated then soon after got a warning about the approach being downgraded...

I worry about the water used in automatic car washes. Ours is recycled because of our aridity, no way they can filter salt. Of course salt is not a huge problem where I am; but possibly in other areas it is...and they recycle?
